Kernel version used by RHEL 8

The known usage of the RHEL/CentOS kernel is as follows, and the detailed version information can be seen: [Correspondence between CentOS (RHEL) kernel version and system version] (http://dangzhiqiang.blog.51cto.com/7961271/1774282).

2.6.18 kernel used by RHEL/CentOS 5

2.6.32 kernel used by RHEL/CentOS 6

3.10.0 kernel used by RHEL/CentOS 7

So what kernel does RHEL/CentOS 8 use? At present, I see from the CentOS community that the 4.4.13 kernel should be used. It is easy to understand that the long-term version supported by the kernel community is used, but the specific minor version is not necessarily the same. It was 4.4.12 and so on. From June 2016 The 4.4.13 kernel will be used from 8th, and it is estimated that there will be continuous upgrades in the future, but the major version will basically be fixed at version 4.4. Red Hat revealed six months ago that it was preparing for RHEL 8, and there should not be any major version upgrades.

What kernel version does RHEL/CentOS 8 use, 4.4.x, we will wait and see!

It turns out that this guess is wrong. The kernel version currently used by RHEL/CentOS 8 is 4.18.
