I have used ubuntu for a long time, and recently I want to make ubuntu beautify. Just do it.
version:
ubuntu 18.04
gnome-shell : GNOME Shell 3.28.4
sudo apt install gnome-tweak-tool
First, we must enter a very NB website: https://www.gnome-look.org/
There are countless icons and themes on it. Click to download the icon pack. And unzip it into a folder.
open Directory:
sudo nautilus --browser /usr/share/icons/
Copy the icon file to this directory.
Run gnome-tweak-tool
gnome-tweaks
At this point, you can find the icon model that cp entered just now in tweak-tool.
Choose a theme on the gnome-look website:
Download the theme you like and open the catalog:
sudo nautilus --browser /usr/share/themes/
Copy the theme folder to this directory, use the gnome-tweak tool, you can see the theme you like, just select it.
Find your favorite cursor in gnome-look:
open Directory:
sudo nautilus --browser /usr/share/icons/
Just like beautifying the icon, copy the directory of the cursor file to this directory, and then set the cursor with gnome-tweak.
To achieve this step, one can go further, and that is to install various gnome-shell extensions.
For unknown reasons, after installing the firefox plug-in and background service of gnome-shell, I still cannot install the plug-in of gnome-shell online on the website. Therefore, it can only be installed manually. For specific articles, see: ubuntu manual installation of gnome extensions
Maybe, you want to install another file manager. The following tutorial is to modify the file manager to a deep file manager.
