Mendeley is not only a document management tool, but also an academic social platform. Starting from the academic social platform, it is similar to ResearchGate. After logging in on Mendeley's official website, the system will recommend relevant literature and researchers in the same field. You can also create groups of different levels to share documents with different people.
Click the link above to download Mendeley. After the download is complete, double-click the package, and then click the "Install or Install Package" button in the software installer.
If you are using an older version of Ubuntu/Debian, the package may not be installed automatically after opening. You can install it manually by opening the terminal and enter:
sudo dpkg -i <path-to-downloaded-package>
During the installation process, the Mendeley Ubuntu repository will be added to the list of software sources. You can then use standard Ubuntu/Debian software update tools to keep Mendeley up to date.
You can find the Mendeley Desktop icon in the "Education" section of the application menu, or enter the following in the terminal window to run Mendeley Desktop as a normal user:
mendeleydesktop
Ubuntu / Debian will automatically check for Mendeley's updates on a regular basis and notify them through standard software update tools. If you want to manually check and install the update, you can open the terminal and enter:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install mendeleydesktop
If you want to delete Mendeley Desktop, you can use Ubuntu's software management tool or open a terminal and run:
sudo apt-get remove mendeleydesktop
Mendeley can modify the reference format, which can be selected in the citation style of the view.
